| GFC Firefighters were woken up early once again this week, this time for a truck fire on the Expressway at City Ave.
Just after 0500 hours this morning, Station 22 and Station 24 were dispatched for a car fire on the Westbound Expressway in the area of City Ave.
Upon arrival of Deputy 22, it was located just before the Westbound City Ave on ramp to I76 Westbound. The vehicle fire was a tri-axle dump truck and the engine / cab area was well involved in fire.
Ladder 22 and Engine 24 each deployed a hand line and extinguished the fire. Engine 24-1 and Pipeline 28 were also on scene and supplied water to both Ladder 22 and Engine 24. The Westbound lanes of the expressway were closed for just under one hour while the fire was extinguished.
Thank you to all of our Firefighters who wake up and respond to these call to help complete strangers in their time of need. If you think you should be a part of this courageous and dedicated team of firefighters, please stop by the firehouse to discuss and we can show you around. |
