By Gladwyne Volunteer Fire Company
June 3, 2025

Gladwyne’s Swift Water Rescue Team was requested to assist at 2 different water related incidents on Monday.

The first was to assist Station 69 (Pottstown Fire Department) with a search for a missing boater that had fallen out of the boat the night before. Other water rescue units were out all night searching for the missing boater and our teams were called in to continue to search during the daylight hours. We were searching with Montgomery County Department of Public Safety USAR’s water rescue team and the Pottstown Career Firefighters IAFF Local#3536 and the Pottstown Fire Department. Just after lunch time, a victim was located and recovered from the river. Gladwyne’s Swift Water Rescue Team returned to Gladwyne and cleaned up all the equipment. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.

Just before midnight, Conshohocken Fire Department requested the Gladwyne Swift water rescue team to assist with a search for a subject who possibly jumped off the Fayette Street Conshohocken Fire DepartmentdwGeorge Clay Fire Company - Station 39GladwPlymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43)e river banks from the VFW to the Fayette Street Bridge. We assisted the Conshohocken Fire Department, George Clay Fire Company - Station 39 and Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43). After 2 hours of searching command advised all units to return to the boat launch’s and restore all boats and equipment.

Thank you to all of our GFC members who dedicated so much of their time yesterday helping with these incidents.
