Just after 0100 hours (1 am) Gladwyne Firefighters were dispatched to assist our Brothers and Sisters from Belmont Hills Fire Company with a house fire. Upon arrival, Firefighters found a large house well involved in fire. Engine 24 completed the hose lay from Ladder 22 back up the street to the hydrant while Firefighters walked up the long driveway to assist in fighting the fire.
Firefighters spent all night fighting the fire and cleared the scene at 0600 hours (6 am). Thank you to our friends from Conshohocken Fire Department for standing by in Gladwyne to make sure our community was protected while we were busy.
Other than a few firefighters that slipped and fell on the ice (not injured) caused by the water running down the driveway that froze because it was so cold, no injuries were sustained during the incident.
The Fire is under investigation by the Lower Merion Fire Department office.
A long cold night, but a good job by all those who responded and assisted.
