Just as the Eagles were on a scoring frenzy the Building Fire dispatch rang out in Lower Merion
Station 21, Station 26, Engine 25-1, Ladder 28 and Engine 23 (RIT) was dispatched to Indian Creek Road for a house fire.
Engine 24 responded as a “Duty Crew” Engine upon dispatch.
Lower Merion Police arrived and reported heavy smoke from the house. Chief 21 (Schmidt) arrived and confirmed a 1 story house with heavy smoke coming from the rear of the house. The homeowner reporting that there was a fire in the back room of the house. The Lower Merion Township working fire dispatch was then transmitted bringing Air 24 and Rescue 22.
Ladder 21 and Engine 25-1 arrived simultaneously and deployed a handling off of Ladder 21 and started to extinguish the fire in the 1st floor living room and multi-purpose room.
Engine 24 was assigned to check above the fire room in the crawl space to ensure there was no extension.
Air 24 filled 15 SCBA cylinders
While Engine 24 and Air 24 were on scene in Penn Wynne, Ladder 24 assisted Station 28 (Union Fire Association of Bala Cynwyd) with a Fire Alarm in an apartment building.
Great Job to Ladder 21 and Engine 25-1’s crew who quickly extinguished the fire.
All Gladwyne units were clear of both incidents within the hour. |
