November 18, 2024

As severe dry conditions continue… multiple Lower Merion agencies assist Belmont Hills Fire Company with a large fire in area of the Cynwyd Trail. First arriving units had a large fire in a difficult to access location rapidly spreading, quickly adding Union Fire Association and Gladwyne Engine 24. As fire continued to spread with no close hydrants. Merion Fire Company of Ardmore and Narberth Fire Company assisted on scene as well. Engine 24 split laid 1000’ of supply line up a pedestrian trail to feed multiple engines companies operating. Crews worked for just under 2 hours to extinguish multiple fires in the area.

The entire county remains under a burn ban, meaning no open flames. These conditions are dangerous, allowing fire to spread very fast. Please continue to follow the warnings.
