Tonight Assistant Chief John Remillard received a Merit Award from the Norristown Borough Council for saving a life back on February 4, 2015. Assistant Chief Remillard is a Career Firefighter with the Norristown Fire Department where he serves as a Battalion Chief. In the early morning hours of February 4, 2015 a 4 alarm fire broke out at 611 Swede Street in Norristown. The Norristown Fire Department responded and were credited with rescuing multiple lives from the fire.

Norristown Borough Council also awarded Gladwyne Fire Company 2 certificates of appreciation for responding to the above listed fire and also another extra alarm fire on Kohn Street on April 19, 2015. While we are grateful for the recognition, we are even more grateful that we were able to help!
