Today Gladwyne Firefighters were invited to participate in the Montgomery County Regional Task Force Training Drill. This was a unique opportunity because normally the "host" County does not participate in the drill, but instead organizes, administers, and monitors the training. But in this case, Philadelphia Fire Department requested the assistance of one Engine and one Ladder truck to make up their team of 6 Engines and 2 Ladders. Penn Wynne Fire Company was utilized as well as our very own Ladder 24.
Gladwyne Firefighters were teamed up with PFD Battalion 8, Engine 19 and Squad 47. They were designated as Philadelphia Task Force "F". During the daylong training and scenarios Task Force F was dispatched to a High Rise Building Fire (Montgomery County Fire Training Academy) and a multi vehicle accident with rescue and fire.
The Task Force team members worked excellent together to reach the same common goal in each scenario and proved that Firefighters are PROFESSIONALS, no matter if they collect a paycheck or are volunteers!
Thank You to our Brothers and Sisters from Philadelphia for allowing us to work with you!
Thank You to the Montgomery County Task Force Coordinators for allowing us to participate in such a great oppurtunity! |
