Gladwyne Firefighters were dispatched to the 1400 Block of SpringMill Road for a house fire. Upon arrival of Lower Merion Police they advised there was smoke coming from the third floor of the house. Ladder 24 arrived and went into service on the 3rd floor only to find that the Electricians working on the property had already extinguished the fire. Crews spent just under an hour ensuring there was no futher extension into the walls / roof and performed light salvage and overhaul of the room.
The Lower Merion Townshp Fire Marshalls along with the County and State Police Fire Marshalls are investigating the fire at this time.

Firefighters pulled the walls and ceiling to ensure the fire did not spread.
Heat coming out of the room melted the fire alarm that alerted the occupants of the fire.
